Steve Doocy of 'Fox and Friends' outsmarted by hotel smart room?

“Fox and Friends” host Steve Doocy was a bit baffled about how his night at a New York City hotel became news, but news that left out the truth! On Thursday morning Jan. 29, Doocy read a write-up about how a hotel room’s modern technology baffled him and left him in the dark. It was funny, but untrue.

Doocy appeared in the news a few times this week with Post Crescent News calling him out for saying that “NASA scientist faked data to make the case for global warning.” They also called out Tucker Carlson for saying “more kids die in bathtub drownings than accidental shootings.” The website claimed both those statements were wrong. This was for an article explaining “Why serious people discount Fox New?”

On “Fox and Friends” live on Thursday morning, Doocy got to call out the New York Daily News for something they wrote under the title “Doocy Runs Into Smarter Lights.” The “Friends” trio stayed at Midtown’s Sanctuary Hotel on Monday night due to the pending storm of “historic” proportions taking aim at the city. This way they were assured of making it to work the next day.

The New York Daily News writes “Fittingly, Doocy spent the evening alone in the dark because he couldn’t figure out how to work his room-card-operated “smart lights.” “He thought the blizzard had knocked out the power,” laughs a Confidenti@l source.”

Doocy did have a tough time at first with his smart key, but the lights were on in the room when he arrived. His dilemma was with the heat. Doocy said he was cold, but at first he couldn’t find a thermostat or switch to pump more heat into the room. It wasn’t long before he realized what he needed to do.

Elisabeth Hasselbeck said she couldn’t figure out how to turn on the TV so she started doing some jumping movements, thinking it might be motion activated! After Doocy read the little snippet from the NY Daily News, Brian Kilmeade piped up saying he saw Steve through the hotel window with his miner hat on trying to navigate the dark room with the light on his helmet! The trio had fun with this news report pointing out the smart technology in the hotel rooms today.

When Doocy went to check out the next day he mentioned to the hotel’s concierge that it would be a good idea to tell their guests that they need to use their key card to operate everything in the room. The next thing you know, Doocy’s in the news sleeping in the dark because the hotel’s smart technology outsmarted the “Fox and Friend” host. So where did that information come from?

The point of the story for Doocy was not to believe everything you read! He was not in the dark, the lights were on when he got to his room. The “Fox and Friends” anchor was cold, but not for long!
